0x review 2026 — wallet-signed DEX swaps on SwapZilla

0x is a DEX aggregator that finds the best-priced route across on-chain liquidity and hands it back as a transaction your own wallet signs. No account, no deposit address, 26 EVM networks.

What is 0x?

0x has been building on-chain trading infrastructure since 2017 and today powers swap features in wallets and apps across the industry. It is not an exchange that holds your coins: it reads the order books of automated market makers — Uniswap, Curve, PancakeSwap, Aerodrome, DODO and dozens more — splits your trade across whichever pools give the best price, and returns a ready transaction.

That makes it a different animal from every other provider on SwapZilla. The exchangers here take your coins at a deposit address and pay out from their own float. 0x never touches your coins at all: they move from your wallet straight into the DEX contract in a single transaction that you sign yourself.

Pros & cons

Pros

  • Your coins never sit with a third party — no deposit address at all
  • Best price across dozens of pools, chosen per trade
  • No account, no KYC, no e-mail
  • Settles in about a minute, in one transaction
  • A guaranteed minimum output is written into the transaction itself

Cons

  • Needs an EVM wallet such as MetaMask — this is not a send-and-forget swap
  • Both coins must live on the same network: no cross-chain routes
  • You pay network gas yourself, which hurts on small amounts
  • ERC-20 tokens need an approval transaction first

How to swap via 0x on SwapZilla

  1. Open the SwapZilla calculator and pick two coins on the same EVM network — say ETH and USDC on Ethereum, or USDC and WETH on Base.
  2. Enter the amount. SwapZilla asks every provider at once, 0x among them, and shows the routes side by side.
  3. If 0x has the best rate, select its card. The button turns into Connect wallet.
  4. Connect your wallet. The route is rebuilt for your address, and the button becomes Swap from your wallet.
  5. Confirm in the wallet — an approval first if you are selling a token, then the swap. The coins arrive in the same wallet a block later.

Fees

The number you see in the calculator is what lands in your wallet: SwapZilla's 0.3% service fee and 0x's own protocol fee are already inside it. On top of that you pay the network's gas, which the wallet quotes before you sign — that is paid to the blockchain, not to us.

SwapZilla verdict

If you already hold your coins in an EVM wallet and both sides of the trade live on the same network, 0x is usually the cleanest way to swap them: nobody takes custody, nothing is queued behind an exchanger's float, and the whole thing is over in a block. For cross-chain moves, or if you would rather just send coins to an address and walk away, the custodial providers on SwapZilla are still the answer.

Frequently asked questions

Does 0x require sign-up?
No. There is no account, no e-mail and no KYC — the only thing you need is a wallet that can sign a transaction.
Where do I send my coins?
Nowhere. Unlike every other provider on SwapZilla, 0x issues no deposit address: your wallet sends the coins straight to the DEX contract when you confirm the swap.
Can 0x swap between different networks?
No. A 0x route lives inside one network. For cross-chain swaps, pick one of the other providers in the same list.
What happens if the price moves while I sign?
The transaction carries a minimum output. If the market moves past it, the swap reverts instead of filling at a worse price, and your coins stay where they are.
